The most amazing thing was that I lost the opportunity to be a DB2 Enablement Consultant back in January 2010. It was a good opportunity that my skill set would fit quite well, and it was in a new organization in expansion mode. It was a band 8/9 role with a great chance to become a manager soon. However, due to some organizational reasons, I was not able to take on that role. It was quite unexpected, as the proper process was followed, and yet after 2 months of my persistence and discussion by senior management, the result remained the same. In order to maintain a good relationship with the people, I eventually gave up on the pursuit. Deep inside I believed that it was God's will that this one was not meant to be, and something better would be prepared for me. My new availability date was adjusted to be the end of August 2010. Near the end of June 2010, I got the news that Fred would become the QA 2nd line manager, and I contacted him to look for a 1st line management opportunity.
Today, I am told that I will take on the role of the FVT manager beginning in September 2010. It is a management role that I always wanted, and the best thing would be that I will be working with/for Fred, who has the special qualities that I admire and would like to have myself.
I would like to thank God and my wife for making this happen and support.
